Curriculum
We’ve designed our curriculum with a focus on meeting three goals: giving kids the knowledge they need, letting them gain new knowledge naturally, and preparing them for whatever environment they wind up in. So whether your child leaves here to go to elementary school or college, they’ll feel confident in their ability to fit in with any society.
Languages
Our language curriculum is designed to teach older and younger children together, which is uncommon in other schools. The majority of children in our Prep class can read materials intended for grade -1 students in other schools (we regularly verify this with teachers invited by other prestigious schools in the area).
Math
Children have an understanding of math that everyone needs to tap into. We help children make connections between their knowledge and the real world, so they can solve math problems. We emphasize building concepts, which allows kids to confidently apply what they’ve learned to everyday life.
Science
Since taking this approach, students have been able to build their information in a logical way. They can connect and lead one piece of information to the next, which allows them to learn independently by using existing resource materials. Books, magazines, and newspapers are all available for students to explore new topics. As an additional resource for independent learning, supervised internet access is also available for students when working on research-based projects or gathering information from resources like the internet.
Sports
Some of the sports children play at school are cricket, hockey, basketball, and racing. These are part of the daily routine of most students.
Music
The children enjoy listening to music on a regular basis
Humane Education
Teaching ethical behavior is the core mission of our school. In addition to teaching about different countries and cultures around the world, we focus on various themes throughout the year that promotes humane behavior.
ART
My Step School & College of Learning is committed to providing a well-rounded education. For our Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8 students, this includes art and crafts with highly competent art instructors who regularly hold fun activities.
